Global professional services firm Accenture has announced the acquisition of Spanish engineering company Arca in a bid to boost its 5G network capabilities. In a press statement, Accenture did not reveal the amount involved in the acquisition. 

With the acquisition, all 640 Arca employees will be part of Accenture Spain operations.

Accenture seeks to leverage Arca’s capabilities to offer multidisciplinary services for network operations. The company will use Arca’s system combined with its SynOps platform to advance its abilities to assist businesses pivot operating models in 5G.

Arca’s acquisition will also boost its network capabilities in both Spain and Portugal. It will offer clients services across 5G network roll-out, engineering, operations, and industry services. The deal mainly targets businesses in the fields of telecommunication, industrial, energy, and infrastructure industries. 

Bid to accelerate 5G cloud network

Accenture Iberia business leader Domingo Mirón talked about businesses’ role to benefit from full 5G potential. According to Mirón:

“5G, cloud, and edge computing will usher in a new wave of change and innovation for businesses. To realize their full potential, companies must act now to adopt the right strategy and build new business solutions enabled by network investments. By harnessing Arca’s expertise, this acquisition will strengthen our ability to help clients accelerate their 5G Cloud network transformation from design through to deployment and operation.”

Arca views the deal with Accenture as an opportunity to expand its capabilities on a global scale. The company seeks to leverage Accenture’s expertise across multiple industries and markets. 

By press time, Accenture (NYSE: ACN) stock price was at $243.20, an increase of 1.45% from a close business on Thursday. 

Arca, which was founded in 1998, works with network operators, telco infrastructure services enterprises. It assists firms to transform their business and processes and implement new communications technologies. On the other hand, Accenture is a leading player offering specialized skills across over 40 industries.
