AI predicts SpaceX stock price for year-end

Though neither publicly traded nor a subject of a scheduled initial public offering (IPO), SpaceX is, perhaps, Elon Musk’s most exciting company.

Indeed, the space-focused firm is behind the growing network of Starlink internet satellites, has made strides in reusable rockets, generally increased its orbit-bound traffic, and is pivotal for the billionaire’s plans for crewed missions to reach and maybe colonize Mars in the relatively near future.

With recent developments – primarily the planned December tender – bringing SpaceX’s potential share price and valuation back into focus, Finbold consulted one of the most advanced artificial intelligence (AI) platforms about the firm’s fair market capitalization at the end of 2024.

AI estimates SpaceX’s fair valuation at the end of 2024

OpenAI’s ChatGPT-4o was quick to point toward Starlink’s growth, Starship program’s strides toward greater rocket reusability, and government contracts when assessing SpeceX’s fair valuation.

The AI also concluded that Elon Musk’s space-focused company is a technological and market leader among private launch firms and greatly benefits from operations in two industries – the second being telecommunications.

Finally, ChatGPT warned that, despite its strengths, the discussion surrounding SpaceX is not entirely positive.

The company is facing significant regulatory scrutiny, safety concerns – seen in the October 2 astronaut retrieval mission mishap and alleged high levels of radion leaking from newer Starlink satellites – and is generally very expensive to run as it develops new methods and technologies.

Ultimately, the AI concluded that between the company’s ‘tremendous potential,’ risks and setbacks do much to ‘temper expectations’ and, thus, the estimated valuation.

Nonetheless, ChatGPT estimated SpaceX’s worth as greater than the upcoming tender would indicate. Indeed, SpaceX shares are set to sell at $135 a piece for a total valuation of $250 billion in the December tender, while the AI considers $300 billion to be a fair market capitalization for a hypothetical, publicly traded SpaceX at the end of 2024.
