Burger King in Paris now accepts Bitcoin and crypto payments

The international fast food giant Burger King has introduced Instpower power bank rental machines that accept cryptocurrency payments at its Paris locations. The machines are connected to crypto payment services Alchemy Pay and Binance Pay.

Along with Binance Pay and Alchemy Pay, Instpower, the industry-leading power bank charging service, now accepts cryptocurrency payments in assets such as Bitcoin from its customers at over 14,000 sites across the globe, as per an Alchemy Pay press release on March 27.

The latest news of Parisian Burger King is a major milestone for both the global fast food giant and the widespread use of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment for goods and services.

CEO of the European distributor responsible for deploying Instpower machines, Yann Phu of Flash Development, is overjoyed that his company’s products are now available in Paris:

“This collaboration with Burger King in Paris has taken us to the next level with our operations in Europe. Instpower’s machines will enable customers to power their devices while on the move.”

The CEO added:

“In Asia, these powerbanks are used widely, but in Europe, the market is only just beginning to embrace them. By having Alchemy Pay helping users to pay with crypto via Binance Pay, we are bringing cutting edge payment options to Europeans.”

Borderless payment option

Because of its borderless nature, crypto is a suitable payment option for Instpower’s shared power banks, which travelers often use to charge their gadgets while on the road.

To facilitate the acceptance of cryptocurrency payments by brick-and-mortar and virtual storefronts alike, Alchemy Pay introduced the first hybrid merchant payment acceptance solution in 2019. Almost two million businesses in seventy or more countries participated in the fiat-crypto payment acceptance system in 2021.

Notably, last year food industry giants KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut filed NFTs and metaverse trademarks in March, following in the footsteps of fellow fast-food chain competitor McDonald’s (NYSE: MCD) decision to explore the metaverse
