DAC Highlights Need for Quantum-Resistant Infrastructure as Italy Prepares to Unveil First Quantum Supercomputer and Industrial Quantum Annealer
Press Releases

DAC Head of Innovation Davide Costa joins discussions on quantum computing and blockchain security at the Digital Innovation Forum 2026, ahead of a major milestone in Italy’s quantum technology ambitions.

CERNOBBIO, ITALY – October 16, 2026 – DAC, a quantum-resistant Layer-1 blockchain project, has highlighted the growing need for post-quantum security as Italy prepares to inaugurate its first Quantum Supercomputer and industrial quantum annealer, Volta B1, today, October 16, at the Digital Innovation Forum 2026.

Today’s inaugurations mark a significant milestone for Italy’s quantum computing ambitions, with Volta B1 set to become one of Europe’s most advanced quantum infrastructures. Developed under the technical and scientific supervision of Q-Alliance, this project also brings renewed attention to the long-term security of digital systems as quantum technologies continue to advance.

Davide Costa, Head of Innovation at DAC, participated in the Forum’s panel, “Frontier Technologies: Quantum Computing, HPC for Quantum Computing, Supercomputers and Blockchain,” alongside representatives from academia, research, and technology institutions.

The discussion explored advances in computing technologies and the infrastructure needed to support future innovation. For blockchain networks, which rely on cryptographic mechanisms to secure transactions and digital assets, preparing for future quantum computing capabilities is becoming an increasingly important priority.

“The inauguration of Italy’s first Quantum Supercomputer and industrial quantum annealer marks a major milestone in quantum technology. While these advances unlock new possibilities, they also reinforce the need to prepare for future threats to the cryptographic systems securing blockchain networks. At DAC, we’re addressing this challenge by embedding quantum resistance into blockchain infrastructure from the outset,” said Davide Costa, Head of Innovation at DAC.

DAC is developing an EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain with quantum resistance as a core architectural priority. DAC Blockchain technology incorporates Proof of Quantum Work (PoQW) and quantum entropy, with a focus on long-term cryptographic resilience and predictable transaction costs for businesses.

The DAC team also attended the Digital Innovation Forum 2026, engaging with industry leaders and technology experts as Europe advances its quantum computing capabilities and strengthens its focus on future-ready digital infrastructure.

About DAC

DAC Blockchain is a quantum-resistant EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain, developed by DAC Labs. Its architecture incorporates Proof of Quantum Work (PoQW) and quantum entropy to support secure, scalable blockchain infrastructure with predictable transaction costs. Designed for businesses and developers, DAC supports smart contracts, decentralized applications, and digital asset transactions while prioritizing long-term resilience against emerging quantum computing threats.
