How Grvt Strategies Lets Everyday Investors Tap Elite Trading Strategies Onchain

Diana Paluteder

Access to high-quality trading strategies has traditionally been concentrated among hedge funds, institutional desks, and elite market-makers. Everyday investors rarely gain access to these approaches because they face high minimums, complex requirements, or opaque processes.

With Grvt Strategies, this dynamic is evolving. Grvt presents it as a peer-to-peer on-chain investment marketplace that gives everyday investors the opportunity to invest directly in professionally managed strategies.

What is Grvt Strategies?

Grvt Strategies is an on-chain platform where professional strategy managers create and manage trading or investment approaches, and everyday investors can allocate capital into those strategies via smart contracts. When you invest, you receive “strategy shares” that represent your ownership and track performance.

These strategies are designed to overcome key limitations of traditional DeFi vaults, such as public exposure of strategy logic, anonymous managers, and difficult discovery. Grvt addresses these issues by verifying every manager, delaying position updates to protect strategic edge, and using advanced discovery mechanisms like ranking, curation, and engagement analytics.

Key terms

Here’s a quick overview of the main roles and mechanics within Grvt Strategies:

  • Managers: Verified individuals or entities who run strategies on Grvt. They control trade execution but cannot access or withdraw investor funds. Positions update every four hours to protect the manager’s edge while still giving investors visibility;
  • Strategies: Live, on-chain representations of each manager’s conviction and skill, with performance and activity visible to investors;
  • Investors: Users who allocate capital into the strategies they want exposure to;
  • Shares: Tokens minted when an investor allocates capital into a strategy. They represent ownership, track performance, and are burned when the investor redeems.
  • Investment: Contributing Tether (USDT) into a strategy in exchange for newly minted shares, priced according to the strategy’s current net asset value (NAV);
  • Redemption: Returning shares to a strategy to receive back USDT, with the amount determined by the current share price at the time of exit.

Strategies on Grvt

Grvt Strategies includes a variety of on-chain approaches run by verified managers. One example is the Grvt Liquidity Provider (GLP) strategy, a delta-neutral market-making approach designed to offer relatively stable returns to liquidity providers. It is operated by an experienced trading team with decades of combined market-making background.

GLP also illustrates how quickly some strategies can attract capital. Indeed, shortly after launch, its $5 million cap filled within a few days. In a post about the rollout, Grvt’s CEO noted early performance metrics and said the team is considering raising the cap due to demand.

The response to GLP provides a useful reference point for how investors engage with strategies on the platform and how certain approaches can reach capacity soon after release.

How to Invest in a Grvt Strategy: Step by Step

Step 1: Deposit Funds

On the strategy page, input the amount of USDT you wish to allocate. Investment amounts may be subject to caps, such as a percentage of your account equity.

Step 5: Approve the transaction with your SecureKey

Confirm your investment and approve the transaction using your SecureKey credential. This completes the on-chain investment, and you will see your position under “My Investments”.

Step 6: Track your performance

From the “Invest” section, select “My Investments” to see your current position, performance metrics, and status of your investment.

Step 7: Redeem your investment

To exit, go to your list of investments, select the strategy, and click “Redeem”. Choose the amount or percentage you want to withdraw, then approve the redemption using your SecureKey. Your shares are burned, and you receive USDT based on the current share value.

Fees

When you redeem your investment in a Grvt strategy, your profit or loss is calculated using the entry share-price, redemption share-price, the number of shares you hold, and any applicable fees. Each strategy clearly displays its fees on its profile page, so you can review the terms before investing.

Grvt strategies use two main types of fees:

  • Management fee: A recurring fee applied at redemption based on the value of your position. Managers can set this anywhere between 0% and 4%;
  • Performance fee: Charged only when a strategy generates a profit for the investor. Managers can set this between 0% and 40%.

This means performance fees apply only when profits are realised, while management fees apply regardless of whether the strategy has gained or lost value.

Pros and cons of investing with Grvt Strategies

Pros

Pros

  • Non-custodial structure: Managers do not have access to or the ability to withdraw investor funds, so your capital remains protected within the protocol;
  • Verified managers and on-chain transparency: All managers are vetted before they launch strategies, and the strategies themselves are live, on-chain representations of their conviction and skill;
  • Delay in position updates protects manager edge: Positions are updated every four hours, which helps preserve the manager’s trading edge while still giving you visibility into how your capital is being used;
  • Rules-based investment and redemption process: Investments and redemptions follow an on-chain, trustless flow — entry and exit mechanics are clearly defined.
Cons

Cons

  • Strategies carry trading risk: Share prices can decrease if a strategy performs poorly, and investors bear these losses directly;
  • Redemption timing can affect returns: During the redemption window, investors continue to share in any losses but do not participate in gains, which can feel restrictive depending on market conditions;
  • Anyone with enough capital can create a strategy: While managers are verified, the $10,000 minimum requirement means quality and experience can vary, so investors still need to evaluate each strategy carefully;
  • Some strategy settings can change over time: Parameters like redemption periods or valuation caps may be updated by the manager. Management fees cannot be increased, but they can be reduced, which still means investors must stay aware of updates.

Conclusion

Grvt Strategies offers a structured way for everyday investors to access trading approaches that have traditionally been reserved for institutions. By combining verified managers, on-chain transparency, and a trustless investment process, the platform removes some of the barriers that have long separated professional strategies from retail participation.

As the example of GLP shows, certain strategies can attract attention quickly, but the broader takeaway is that investors now have a clearer, more transparent framework for exploring and assessing these approaches on-chain.

Ultimately, Grvt Strategies doesn’t change the risks inherent in market-based investing, but it does change how accessible these strategies are.
