Lisk partners with Indonesian Ministry of Communications to help local Web3 startups

Lisk, the Layer-2 platform rooted in the OP Stack, partnered with Indonesia’s Directorate General of Informatics Applications under the Ministry of Communications & Informatics Technology (DGIA MCIT) to boost the Indonesian Web3 startup scene, as per the information shared with Finbold on February 27.

What can Lisk do for the Indonesian Web3 sector?

Through the new collaboration, Lisk pledges to furnish the foundational developer platform, offer mentorship, and provide initial funding to Web3 startups in the 1000 Digital Startup Program, DGIA MCIT’s initiative to cultivate digital talent, foster innovation, and fortify the startup ecosystem nationwide.

Max Kordek, the luminary behind Lisk, remarked on the company’s dedication to blockchain technology and enthusiasm entering the Indonesian scene:

“At Lisk, we have been democratizing blockchain tech since our beginning in 2016. As we move into our next chapter as a Layer 2 focused on helping builders in Emerging Markets, we are looking forward to this unique opportunity to work in Indonesia alongside such strong partners like DGIA MCIT.”

Moreover, Lisk endeavors to collaborate with DGIA and MCIT in developing educational resources on Web3 technologies necessary for nascent Indonesian Web3 entrepreneurs.

Notably, participants will receive foundational insights through an introductory blockchain course on concepts such as consensus mechanisms, network architecture, and practical applications.

The overarching goal of the Lisk partnership

The new partnership conforms with the Onchain Foundation’s goal of bolstering the 1000 Startup Digital Program by furnishing indispensable support throughout diverse developmental stages.

Through bootstrap grants, mentorship, community engagement initiatives, and similar endeavors, Lisk underscores its steadfast dedication to nurturing a vibrant Web3 ecosystem within the program’s framework.

Semuel A. Pangerapan, Director General of Informatics Applications, described the objective succinctly, stating:

WP feature quote: “This collaboration is not just a mere agreement; it’s a visionary step towards fostering innovation, knowledge-sharing, and empowerment in the field of blockchain technology. We intend to collaborate in order to educate, encourage innovation, and empower Indonesian entrepreneurs and software developers with the skills needed to effectively harness blockchain technology”

The collaboration also reaffirms Lisk’s concerted focus on emerging markets and its resolute commitment to empowering builders within these locales.

Recognizing the potential of blockchain technology, particularly through applications leveraging real-world assets (RWA), off-chain assets (OCA), and decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN), Lisk accentuates its prioritization of solutions that can meet local demands.
