Solana (SOL) is down nearly 5% on July 28 amid a broader market selloff, and a machine learning algorithm predicts the price is not going to recover by the end of the month.

Namely, Finbold’s AI Agent projects an average Solana price target of $72.3 on August 1, 2026, implying a 1.18% downside from the current price of $73.16.

The forecast is the average figure given by three large language models. Claude Sonnet 5 was the most optimistic, forecasting a price of $73.05, just 0.15% below the current market price. DeepSeek Chat, on the other hand, was slightly more cautious, predicting SOL would ease to $72.50, representing a 0.9% decline. The most conservative outlook comes from Grok 4.5, which projects Solana will fall to $71.35, a decline of 2.47%.

Overall, the AI consensus is cautiously bearish. Even so, this forecast remains within a relatively narrow trading range and does not indicate expectations of a major breakdown. That is, while the models anticipate some additional downside in the coming few days, the expected moves are relatively small, suggesting a period of consolidation rather than the start of a deeper sell-off.

Solana price outlook

As mentioned, a broader crypto market selloff, combined with a technical break below a key support level, has contributed greatly to the downward pressure. Notably, the crypto market has declined around 2.75% over the past 24 hours, with Bitcoin (BTC) falling 2.67%

U.S. spot Solana ETFs could be a potential catalyst, as they are seeing consistent inflows, with a net $1.03 million inflow on July 27. At the same time, the newly approved Morgan Stanley Solana ETF is providing additional support.

From a technical perspective, SOL is now hovering around the $73 support level, while its relative strength index (RSI) has dropped to 29.04, indicating oversold conditions. In the near term, holding above the $70 support zone could open the door to $77.5, while a decisive break below $70 would increase the risk of a move towards $65.
