Notching a considerably weaker performance in 2024 from its rivals in the semiconductor sector, Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) stock wasn’t troubled with many insider sales during this year.

However, after over two months without insider sales, its CEO, Lisa Su, offloaded 80,000 AMD shares worth $12.6 million on August 20.

Looking at Su’s previous insider trading activity in 2024, there are four more instances in which she offloaded AMD stock spanning from February 21 to July 5.

In addition to AMD’s CEO, its Division President Victor Peng was the second most profitable insider seller, thanks to his sale on February 2. He offloaded 100,000 AMD shares at an average price of $175.11 per share for a total profit of $17.5 million.

Next in line is Forrest Eugene Norrod, General Manager, who raked in $5.2 million profit from his sale of 30,000 AMD shares on the same date at an average price of $175.9 per share.

AMD’s CFO, Jean Hu, is the fourth most profitable insider seller thanks to his recent insider sale on June 10, earning $3.2 million from her sale of 20,000 AMD shares.

AMD stock didn’t experience many insider sales in 2024

Despite some sizable insider sales of AMD stock by its higher executives, AMD stock recorded only nine insider sales overall in 2024.

However, despite these nine sales, there were zero buys of AMD stock, which can be justified by its weaker fundamental performance, considering a highly competitive semiconductor sector dominated by Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA).
