Moonveil, a web3 game studio, has unveiled plans for a Layer-2 Chain testnet backed by Polygon CDK, as revealed to Finbold on Tuesday, October 8.
The testnet will leverage the zero-knowledge (zk)-powered Polygon CDK and AggLayer to deliver a customizable, scalable solution that enables fast, secure, and seamless Web3 gaming experiences.
Moonveil has raised $9 million from prominent investors including Gumi Cryptos, Spartan Group, HashKey Capital, Animoca Ventures, Hivemind, and Mask Network, which shows industry confidence in the studio’s vision.

Moonveil’s Layer-2 testnet
By modularizing transactions and oracles across multiple layers and modules, Moonveil plans to improve network speed, efficiency, and security while reducing operational costs.
This enhanced modularization helps game developers to test and integrate new technologies and features vital for seamless development of gaming products.
M.J. Wang, Co-Founder and CEO of Moonveil Entertainment, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming launch, stating:
“Moonveil is excited to announce the upcoming launch of our Layer-2 Chain testnet, a key step toward revolutionizing gaming with unmatched scalability and performance. Powered by Polygon CDK and AggLayer, this chain offers a fast, secure, and customizable solution for developers and gamers alike. Alongside the launch, our node sales will soon begin, inviting the community to be a part of this transformative journey.”
The Layer-2 Chain aims for high performance with quick network finality, frequent validity proofs, and advanced Polygon Zero technology responsible for the fastest ZK proof available.
With Polygon zkEVM, transaction costs will be lowered by a margin, mitigating some gas fee concerns for gamers.
Likewise, the recursive STARK technology will further allow developers to realize their ideas for diverse decentralized applications (dApps) and games without extensive code rewrites.
Ensuring cross-chain liquidity with AggLayer
A key component of the project is the AggLayer.
Developed together with Polygon Labs, AggLayer facilitates unified cross-chain liquidity essential for interoperability and game product collaboration.
The use of MORE tokens as gas eliminates the differences between in-game and gas tokens, simplifying user onboarding.
Additionally, the AggLayer enables developers to create independent spaces and offers them flexibility to establish one or more dedicated environments for improved modular design.
This also allows for the division of game sub-scenes and better organization of the gaming world.
“Flaming Pets” and Moonveil node sales
In addition to the testnet, Moonveil will soon release Flaming Pets, an on-chain game set in a fantasy world with 25 magical castles.
This game will help refine the studio’s new L2 technology while providing players with a fresh competitive experience.
The studio is also set to kick off node sales, enabling the community to actively contribute to its ecosystem’s development.
