This banking giant emerges as top XRP ETF holder

This banking giant emerges as top XRP ETF holder
Paul L.

Goldman Sachs has become the largest institutional holder of U.S. spot XRP ETFs, according to second-quarter 2026 13F filings.

The Wall Street bank reported $87.45 million in XRP ETF exposure, equivalent to holdings linked to more than 84 million XRP, placing it well ahead of all other disclosed investors.

The latest filings show Goldman Sachs increased its XRP ETF exposure by 83.15 million XRP during the quarter, marking one of the largest institutional accumulation moves in the market.

The banking giant now ranks as the top XRP ETF holder among institutions reporting positions to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The development represents a significant turnaround from the first quarter of 2026, when Goldman Sachs had exited its XRP ETF holdings after previously holding about $154 million in exposure at the end of 2025.

During the second quarter, the bank rebuilt its position through allocations across multiple spot XRP ETFs offered by issuers including Bitwise, Franklin Templeton, Canary Capital, 21Shares, and Grayscale.

Data from Bloomberg Intelligence shows Goldman Sachs held a commanding lead over other institutional investors.

The filings highlight a significant gap between Goldman Sachs and the rest of the market. The next four largest holders, Jane Street Group, Millennium Management, Intesa Sanpaolo, and Marex UK Holdings, reported a combined $55.4 million in XRP ETF exposure, underscoring Goldman Sachs’ dominant position among institutional investors.

The latest 13F disclosures also highlight growing institutional interest in spot XRP ETFs, which launched in the United States in late 2025.

Since their debut, the products have attracted approximately $1.8 billion in cumulative net inflows.

Assets under management across the XRP ETF market are estimated at between $1.4 billion and $1.5 billion, depending on XRP price movements.

The Bitwise XRP ETF recently surpassed $500 million in assets under management, reflecting continued demand for regulated XRP investment products.

Meanwhile, since the launch of spot XRP ETFs, XRP’s price has not reacted significantly to the inflows.

Some analysts argue that the market had already priced in the impact of the ETF approvals. As a result, the cryptocurrency has largely traded in line with broader market trends.

By press time, XRP was trading at $1.36, down about 8.5% over the past week.
