As the XRP price remained trapped in a major bear market for nearly a year through July 2026, it has seen its Open Interest (OI) – the total unsettled futures in the derivatives market – on Binance crypto exchange crash to its lowest level since 2024.
XRP’s OI on Binance was at $369,657,870 on July 29, according to data from CryptoQuant, analyzed by Finbold on July 30. Consequently, the token’s OI on Binance has fallen below $401,803,784, which it registered on November 14, 2024.

The altcoin’s derivative demand on this exchange, where it recorded its highest traded volume of over $77 million over the past 24 hours, has been declining since July 21, 2025. Specifically, XRP’s OI on Binance has collapsed by $1,331,848,722 between July 21, last year, and the time of reporting, representing a plunge of 78.28%.
This significant retreat in capital from XRP’s derivative traders has coincided with the crypto bear market over the past year. Notably, the crypto market, led by Bitcoin (BTC), has been trapped in a multi-month correction fueled by capital flight to AI (Artificial Intelligence) stocks, as Finbold reported.
XRP price outlook amid falling Open Interest on Binance
As XRP’s OI returned to its lowest level since 2024, its price tumbled more than 65% over the past 12 months, trading at $1.08 at press time. During the past 24 hours, the token’s price added 0.52%, with its traded volume at $1.25 billion

The increased selling pressure on the altcoin has coincided with reduced demand in the derivatives market. Moreover, XRP’s OI has also dropped on all exchanges from about $3.9 billion on July 21, 2025, to $784 million on Thursday, based on updates from CryptoQuant.
As such, XRP’s sharp decline in Open Interest suggests derivatives traders are continuing to reduce exposure as bearish sentiment persists.
