The ceremony was attended by Nexo co-founders Antoni Trenchev and Kosta Kantchev, alongside First Minister of Scotland John Swinney and leaders from politics, business, and sport.
The Nexo co-founders also joined President Trump for lunch, where they discussed global innovation, the future of sports, and digital finance’s expanding role in the economy.

The championship comes after Donald Trump Jr. visited Bulgaria at a Nexo event in April 2025, where plans to return to the U.S. market were unveiled.
This year, Nexo has partnered with six DP World Tour events, including the Genesis Scottish Open, Betfred British Masters, BMW PGA Championship, Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, and the Nexo Championship.
The Aberdeen event adds to Scotland’s golf tourism industry, which brings in over $400 million annually. The new course and championship are expected to help extend the tourism season and attract more international visitors to the region.
