XRP ETFs outperform Bitcoin ETFs by 100%

XRP ETFs outperform Bitcoin ETFs by 100%

XRP ETFs outperformed Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs by roughly 106% on a net-flow basis on September 1, even as both cryptocurrencies experienced notable price declines.

Namely, in the eleventh consecutive day of inflows, U.S. spot XRP ETFs attracted another $14.38 million on September 1, extending one of their strongest stretches of institutional demand this year, according to the latest SoSoValue data.

Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ led the session with $6.63 million in net inflows, followed by Grayscale’s GXRP with $4.72 million and Canary Capital’s XRPC with $3.03 million.

However, the same data shows that U.S. spot BTC ETFs recorded approximately $236.5 million in net outflows on the same day. Specifically, BlackRock’s IBIT accounted for about $201.2 million of the withdrawals, while Fidelity’s FBTC saw another $43.7 million leave the fund.

The latest inflows brought cumulative net investments in U.S. spot XRP ETFs to approximately $1.68 billion since the products began launching in November 2025. Of course, Bitcoin funds still dominate by this metric, with $54.61 billion in cumulative total net inflows.

XRP ETF inflows continue

Monday’s XRP institutional flows stand out against the performance of the broader crypto market. Indeed, the trend follows XRP ETFs’ strongest week of 2026, whichrecorded $110.49 million in net inflows ending with August 28 .

That momentum has now carried into September, suggesting the recent recovery in XRP ETF demand did not end with August’s surge. As mentioned, however, strong ETF demand has yet to translate into immediate price gains for XRP. Notably, the token traded around $1.32 at press time on September 2, down nearly 10% from about $1.45 on August 27.

Interestingly, though, institutional exposure also extends beyond daily ETF flows, as new data shows that Goldman Sachs was the largest disclosed institutional holder of XRP ETFs at the end of the second quarter, with approximately $87.4 million in exposure.

Ultimately, it must be noted that the divergence between XRP and BTC institutional demand does not necessarily mean investors are shifting from Bitcoin to XRP. After all, Bitcoin ETFs remain vastly larger in terms of both assets under management and trading activity. Rather, the contrasting flows appear to highlight XRP’s ability to attract fresh capital even during a broader risk-off session.
