3 cryptocurrencies to buy before Halloween

3 cryptocurrencies to buy before Halloween

The crypto market remains volatile as Halloween approaches, but several major digital assets stand out as potentially strong performers this month, justifying its “Uptober” nickname. Below, we highlight 3 cryptocurrencies to buy before Halloween.

1. Bitcoin

Bitcoin (BTC) remains the most established cryptocurrency and therefore the usual starting point for those looking to gain some exposure to the industry. What’s more, some predictions suggest the flagship digital asset could rally significantly by the end of the month, making Bitcoin an attractive first-time investment.

The positive outlook revolves around improving spot Bitcoin ETF demand, institutional accumulation, and a recovery from the lows recorded over the summer. Likewise, Bitcoin’s historically strong October performance also supports the outlook, although elevated oil prices, bond-market volatility, and recent interest-rate increases could limit the rally.

Also worth mentioning is that the Bitcoin Rainbow Chart suggests BTC could reach as high as $153,000 by October 31 while remaining relatively undervalued, and Citi recently raised its 12-month Bitcoin target from $83,000 to $113,000.

2. Ethereum

Ethereum (ETH) is another cryptocurrency worth watching as October progresses, although its setup is a bit more cautiously bullish than that of Bitcoin. Up 10% over the past month, its move is largely being driven by a broader crypto rally, ETF inflows, which outpaced those of Bitcoin significiantly, and an improving altcoin market.

The immediate price outlook hinges on the $2,690 support level. If ETH holds above its 7-day moving average near $2,690, the cryptocurrency could retest the $2,775-2,800 resistance zone this month. A sustained break above $2,800 would strengthen the bullish case and potentially open the way toward $3,000.

Several catalysts could determine whether Ethereum reaches such a level. The Glamsterdam upgrade test on October 6, for example, is the nearest event, while continued institutional demand and growing interest in staking-enabled Ethereum ETFs could provide additional upside. Whale accumulation is another supportive factor, although thinner market liquidity could also make ETH more volatile.

3. XRP

Our last pick, XRP, is also showing a cautiously bullish setup for October, with the potential to inch higher past $1.6. Specifically, although XRP has faced persistent resistance around $1.53 over the past seven weeks, recent data suggests the token could rally if it breaks out of its current technical pattern.

Currently, XRP is forming a descending triangle on the four-hour chart at the time of writing. A sustained breakout above the pattern’s upper trendline could signal a move toward $1.62, but the asset would need to consistently close above the $1.53 supply zone to confirm the bullish setup. However, relatively weak whale demand could delay the breakout.

XRP has gained more than 12% over the past six months and over 30% in three months, with renewed institutional demand helping support the rally. Trading volume also jumped more than 75% to around $1.95 billion, suggesting rising market activity, which could likewise prop the asset in the coming weeks.
