Cryptocurrency analysts expect 2025 to be “the mother of all bull markets” or “the biggest crypto bull run ever.” Amid these optimistic expectations, the CEO of Nansen AI, Alex Svanevik, made nine crypto predictions for the upcoming new year.
As shared in a thread today, Svanevik addresses memecoins, DeFi, Solana (SOL), Bitcoin (BTC), tokenization, DeSci, AI, FIT21, and RWAs. The analyst also predicted 2025 will be “the mother of all bull markets,” and his projections are highly optimistic overall.
Other analysts share a similarly optimistic view for the upcoming new year, with prominent names calling for a utility focus.

For example, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) urged the industry to get back to building real-world blockchain applications. Alex Becker believes utility altcoins are the “easiest and surest” play for 2025, with 10 to 30-fold return potential.
Finbold reported some of these insights while also sharing indicators that suggest an altseason has just started. Notably, TradingView’s Crypto TOTAL3 index shows a breakout for altcoins, creating strong momentum moving forward.
Alex Svanevik’s predictions for the 2025 crypto bull market
Looking at utility, Alex Svanevik believes decentralized finance (DeFi) will experience a “renaissance” with Gary Gensler stepping away. He expects a “ton of capital” to flow into useful DeFi ecosystems, benefiting governance tokens, in particular.
Similarly, real-world assets (RWA) will see a “3x [increase] in market cap” in the most conservative projection, he said. This will happen as people realize “the full potential of crypto,” and every asset will be tokenized.
Talking about tokenization, Nansen’s CEO predicts permissioned chains like Haven1 will get back to the spotlight through tokenization. Conversely, memecoins will be the retail onboarding pathway to permissionless ecosystems, with expected record volume metrics on decentralized exchanges (DEX).
The analyst also pointed out to the artificial intelligence (AI) and Decentralized Science (DeSci) sectors expected growth and interest.
In his words, “Crypto accelerates AI, but also protects us from AI,” attracting massive “cryptodollars,” similar to what he sees for DeSci. This is because many crypto leaders have a special interest in longevity research, which means more crypto-native capital inflowing to frontier science, potentially making “more headlines” in 2025.
Svanevik forecasts an approved Solana exchange-traded fund (ETF) to surpass Ethereum (ETH) ETFs’ results, bringing more traditional finance (TradFi) capital. Moreover, the Bitcoin ecosystem will “continue to flourish,” he followed, “both in tradfi and onchain.”
From a regulatory perspective, The Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act (FIT21) US bill will become law.
Only the upcoming new year will tell if these predictions will become true. As things develop, different narratives can appear in the cryptocurrency landscape, fueling the 2025 bull market and bringing more innovation.
