Australian gamers can now pay in bitcoin for their custom PC builds

Australia’s custom gaming computer manufacturer Dream PC is one of the latest entities to accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrency payments.

The manufacturer announced the development through a Twitter post and joins the growing list of retailers accepting cryptocurrency payments.

In buying the customized gaming computers, Dream PC customers will also be eligible to pay in bitcoin cash, ethereum, litecoin, and USDC.

Notably, retailers in the electronic sector have been leading the way in integrating cryptocurrency payments at checkout. Recently, consumer electronics online retail platform Newegg Vice President of Finance Nikki Tanlioco noted that bitcoin and other digital assets are gaining popularity in eCommerce as a form of payment.

Newegg ranks among the leading retailers globally to accept bitcoin payments in 2014 after partnering with BitPay

Growing support for crypto payments

As the cryptocurrency sector matures and offers an alternative payment option, PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) has leveraged the growth after launching a service that enables U.S. customers to use the bitcoin payment option at checkout.

PayPal is among traditional institutions that contributed to the current bitcoin bull run after enabling crypto transactions in the U.S. Furthermore, the recent $1.5 billion investment by electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) in bitcoin contributed to the rally. Other institutions that have acted as catalysts include and Visa (NYSE: V) and Microstrategy.
