We are looking for a talented Stocks News Reporter with a passion for journalism and a drive to produce high-quality, data-driven content. The ideal candidate will go beyond simply rewriting news, they will proactively uncover unique stories, pitch original ideas, and use credible data sources to create impactful reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Cover timely and best-in-class news stories related to stocks, investing, and major market movements.
Pitch unique, data-led story ideas that align with Finbold’s editorial direction and audience interests.
Conduct thorough research using reputable sources (e.g., earnings reports, analyst commentary, regulatory filings, on-chain/on-market data).
Create original news, not just repackage existing content, identifying untapped angles and emerging market trends.
Apply and implement editorial feedback effectively, ensuring repeated mistakes are avoided.
Collaborate proactively with the editorial team to refine content and support long-term content planning.
Uphold Finbold’s brand voice and editorial standards, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency.
Understand and apply on-page SEO fundamentals, including keyword placement, structured headings, and metadata optimization.
Meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Requirements
2+ years of experience in finance journalism or reporting, preferably with a focus on stocks and market coverage.
Proven ability to deliver accurate, fast-paced reporting under deadline pressure.
Strong understanding of financial markets, corporate earnings, and investor sentiment.
Demonstrated ability to use data to drive headlines and insights (e.g., TradingView, Bloomberg, TipRanks, MarketScreener, X, Nasdaq, Fintel).
Excellent written English with a clear, concise, and engaging journalistic style.
Experience optimizing content for SEO and online readership.
High attention to detail, with a track record of actioning editorial feedback.
Strong communication skills and ability to work within a remote editorial team.
Must provide recent work samples and professional references.
Nice to Have
Previous experience conducting interviews or quoting industry experts.
Familiarity with Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Discover, or AI citation optimization.
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate strong analytical ability and a track record of discovering fresh angles through independent research and data interpretation.
