Grvt App Review [2026] | How to Earn, Trade and Invest

Diana Paluteder

This guide explains how the Grvt app works and outlines its main sections, including earning features, trading tools, and investment options, to help users understand what the platform offers and how it is structured in practice.

What is Grvt?

Grvt is a, privacy-first, self-custodial trading platform that combines elements of decentralized (DEX) and centralized exchange (CEX) design. User funds are held in self-custodial on-chain wallet and blockchain-secured smart contracts, meaning Grvt does not take custody of assets. Instead, users retain control through their own wallets, while the platform provides a structured trading interface and risk management tools.

Grvt App

The Grvt app is structured around four core areas: Earn, Trade, Invest, and Portfolio. Grvt integrates these features directly into the app, allowing users to manage activity and risk from a single interface.

The app is available on both iOS and Android and can be downloaded directly from the App Store and Google Play.

How to Sign Up

Getting started on the Grvt app is straightforward. Once you have installed the app successfully, head to the app, click Sign Up, and register using your email or by connecting a self-custodial wallet like MetaMask. The steps are as follows:

  1. Sign-up: register with an email and password, or sign in directly with a wallet such as MetaMask;
  2. Enter your details: fill in your email, receive and enter your verification codeand enter a referral code if you have one;
  3. Verify your email: click the confirmation link sent to your inbox to activate your account;
  4. Set up your wallet: a self-custodial wallet is automatically created for you via Privy for trading and asset management;
  5. Deposit Tether (USDT) and transfer to your trading account: funds can be deposited from a connected wallet or another exchange.

Earn on Grvt

Earn on Equity is a key feature of Grvt, allowing users to earn interest on their trading account balance while continuing to use those funds as margin, and it’s available on the Grvt mobile app as well. Instead of requiring users to lock assets into a separate yield product, Earn on Equity applies to unused trading equity, meaning capital can remain active for trading while also generating yield.

Interest is calculated on trading account equity, defined as the account balance if all positions were closed, including available balance, margin, and unrealized profit or loss. Only equity held in the trading account qualifies; balances held in funding accounts or separate strategy vaults are excluded. Interest applies to up to $100,000 of eligible equity and is paid out weekly.

How does Earn on Equity work?

To begin earning, users deposit funds into their Grvt trading account and complete a minimum number of trades within a rolling four-week cycle. Completing five trades during a cycle activates the base interest rate of 3.5% APY. This requirement must be met again in each new cycle, as progress resets every four weeks.

Additional yield can be unlocked through referrals and trading volume. Referring an eligible user who deposits at least $1,000 USDT and completes five trades during the same cycle adds an extra 1% APY. Higher trading volumes can further increase the interest rate, with volume-based boosts ranging from 1% to 6.5% APY, depending on total traded volume during the cycle. When combined, the base rate, referral bonus, and volume boost can raise total yield to a maximum of 11% APY.

Interest rates and limits

Earn on Equity uses a tiered structure based on user activity:

  • 3.5% APY: Base rate after completing five trades;
  • +1% APY: Referral bonus (once per cycle);
  • Up to +6.5% APY: Volume-based boosts;
  • Maximum yield: 11% APY per cycle.

Interest accrues automatically and is distributed weekly on Tuesdays, with payouts rounded down to four decimal places. While funds remain fully accessible and can be withdrawn or reallocated at any time, yields are variable and depend on meeting the cycle requirements and overall trading activity.

Invest on Grvt with Strategies

Grvt Strategies is a peer-to-peer on-chain investment marketplace where verified managers run trading strategies, and users allocate capital into them. When you invest, you receive strategy shares that track your ownership and performance. As the strategy performs, share value changes accordingly. Redemptions burn your shares and return USDT at the current share price.

All managers are verified, and capital is protected by protocol, i.e.,  managers can execute trades but cannot withdraw investor funds. Positions update on a four-hour delay, balancing transparency for investors with confidentiality for managers.

One live example is the Grvt Liquidity Provider (GLP) strategy, a delta-neutral market-making approach designed to earn from spreads and funding payments rather than directional price moves. It reached its initial $5 million cap within days of launch.

Trade on Grvt

Grvt’s Trade section is built around perpetual futures. Users can take long or short positions across cryptocurrencies and traditional assets like equities and commodities. USDT is used as the margining and settlement currency across all markets.

Perpetual futures and available markets

Perpetual futures are contracts with no expiry date, meaning positions can be held indefinitely as long as margin requirements are met. Grvt supports a wide range of perpetual markets, with new assets added regularly. Alongside crypto, the platform also offers perpetuals on equities such as Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) and commodities like gold and crude oil.

Leverage and margin

Grvt supports up to 50× leverage on major markets like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) for smaller position sizes, with leverage tapering as position size grows. Traders can choose between two margin modes and both can benefit from Earn on Equity:

  • Cross margin uses the full account balance as collateral across all positions, allowing profitable trades to offset losses elsewhere;
  • Isolated margin caps the collateral assigned to a single trade, so a losing position cannot draw from the rest of the account. This is useful for high-leverage speculative trades or when you want a hard limit on potential losses.

Margin can be added or removed from isolated positions while they are open, giving traders flexibility to adjust their risk exposure without closing out.

Order types and trading tools

Grvt supports market, limit, and stop orders as well as more advanced options, including scale orders, standalone take profit/stop loss orders, and a reverse position feature that flips an open position to the opposite side in one action.

TradingView charts are integrated directly into the interface, so technical analysis and order placement sit side by side.

For traders who want to automate entries and exits, Grvt also supports integration with Alertatron, allowing webhook-based order execution triggered by external signals.

Fees

Grvt uses a tiered maker-taker fee model based on 30-day trading volume. Negative maker fees apply to all users across all markets from the entry tier, meaning traders who place limit orders receive a rebate on every fill rather than paying a fee. Taker fees start at 0.045% at the base tier and decrease as trading volume grows, while maker rebates increase with activity. You can view the full fee tier breakdown here.

Is Grvt Safe?

Grvt operates on a non-custodial model, i.e., user funds are held in blockchain-secured smart contracts, not by the platform. Grvt cannot access or move user funds.

Key security features include:

  • ZK-proof security: Grvt runs a ZKSync Validium L2 that keeps transaction details private while inheriting Ethereum-level security, with every batch of transactions verified directly on Ethereum;
  • Private chain architecture: Grvt’s L2 chain is fully private, with user requests routed through its backend. Through Validium, Grvt is structurally prevented from accessing user funds;
  • MEV and front-running protection: Because orders are routed through a private backend rather than a public mempool, trades are not exposed to front-running or MEV attacks common on public chains;
  • Smart contract audits: Grvt collaborates with Spearbit DAO for smart contract audits;
  • Account security: Users protect access with passwords and 2FA. Grvt cannot access user private keys.
