Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot announced on June 21 that it would release 200 new limited-edition watches that will also be available for online purchase using chosen cryptocurrencies through BitPay.
The company stated:
“Exclusively on our Hublot United States eBoutique, clients will be able to shop using select Cryptocurrencies with BitPay.”

Indeed, the new Big Bang Unico Essential Grey will be exclusively available on the watchmakers Hublot United States eBoutique, with the watch available for around 20,700 euro ($21,800), so just slightly more than one whole Bitcoin at the current market price of the flagship digital asset.
Luxury watchmakers make Web3 plans
Interestingly, the news follows another luxury Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer who announced in May the rollout of cryptocurrency payments for all online purchases on its United States website.
TAG Heuer noted that their new crypto payment option is a partnership with BitPay and will include 12 digital currencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and five dollar-pegged stablecoins.
It’s worth mentioning that TAG Heuer has disclosed that the company’s first foray into Web3 and the broader adoption of blockchain technology and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) would begin with the acceptance of cryptocurrency payments.
What’s more, the watchmaker has jumped on the NFT bandwagon and created a smartwatch feature that allows its users to show off their NFT collections.
The Swiss firm highlighted that the move is “part of TAG Heuer’s expanding digital ecosystem of apps and watch faces, created by a team of in-house developers and bearing the brand’s trademark design signatures.”
Users have the ability to pick which NFTs they wish to show on their wrist, thanks to a feature that enables the watch to safely connect to a variety of crypto wallets such as Metamask or Ledger Live.
