The latest addition to significant selling done by AMD senior personnel was unveiled in an August 26 Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing that revealed that Executive Vice President (EVP) Forrest Norrod sold nearly $8 million worth of stock two days earlier.
Specifically, the Monday trade involved 17,261 shares of the blue-chip chipmaker, and it was executed at an average price of $459.95.

AMD insiders dump more than $40 million worth of stock
Meanwhile, the EVP’s sale brought the August insider total to over $40 million and the number of shares dumped above 85,000.
By far the biggest individual trade came on August 20 – and was reported one day later – when Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Mark Papermaster raised just under $13.6 million by offloading 28,811 AMD at an average price of $471.87.
Notably, the CTO also sold Advanced Micro Devices stock near the middle of the month at $487.34, making roughly $3.6 million.

AMD stock price drops 17% from late June highs
Finally, the August Advanced Micro Devices insider sales came as the shares began a slow but protracted descent from their late June highs above $580.

Indeed, though AMD stock remains up an impressive 115.21% – soundly outperforming its most recognizable competitor, Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) – the previous two months featured a noticeable decline of over 17% to the latest close at $480.93.
