Led by $676m venture financing of SambaNova Systems, total technology industry artificial intelligence (AI) venture financing deals worth $9.5bn were announced in North America in Q2 2021, according to GlobalData’s deals database.
The information shared with Finbold reveals that the value marked an increase of 17.7% over the previous quarter and a rise of 109.1% when compared with the last four-quarter average of $4.52bn.
North America held a 55.20% share of the global technology industry artificial intelligence venture financing deal value that totalled $17.12bn in Q2 2021. With a 49.88% share and deals worth $8.54bn, the US was the top country in North America’s artificial intelligence venture financing deal value across the technology industry.

In terms of deal activity, North America recorded 290 artificial intelligence deals during Q2 2021, marking a decrease of 0.68% over the previous quarter and a rise of 17.53% over the last four-quarter average. The US recorded 270 deals during the month.
