Polkadot Blockchain Academy (PBA), Polkadot’s (DOT) educational program, has announced a new advanced developer course in Switzerland, according to the updates shared with Finbold on Monday, December 2.
The course, titled Cohort 6, will be hosted at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in March 2025 and last nearly three weeks.
Polkadot Cohort 6
Organized in collaboration with Lucerne University’s new blockchain research institute, the Cohort 6 course promises to provide developers with the skills needed to build advanced Web3 solutions on the Polkadot network.

Key Polkadot figures, including co-founder Dr. Gavin Wood, will lead the core modules, combining their technical expertise with a deep understanding of the DOT architecture.
As such, the curriculum aims to inspire a new generation of leaders and innovators in the industry.
Although the program puts a special emphasis on Polkadot, developers from other ecosystems are also welcome, including Web2 engineers transitioning to Web3.
Participants can choose between two technical tracks: the established protocol/on-chain track or the new dApps/off-chain track, which will give developers new skills to build decentralized applications (dApps) and Web3 tools.
In addition to providing technical training, the course will also serve as a gateway to the Web3 industry and leading organizations such as Parity Technologies, Web3 Foundation, and Polkadot Fellows.
Graduates can therefore look forward to potential hiring.
Applying for Polkadot’s developer course
To register, applicants must pass a thorough selection process, including a multiple-choice test on blockchain fundamentals.
Successful candidates must also complete a programming assignment and an interview.
To help applicants prepare, PBA-X, Polkadot’s online learning platform, offers preparatory courses.
Around 100 developers will be accepted for the Lucerne cohort, with the Polkadot Treasury covering course fees, accommodation, and half board.
