Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO) has, over the decades, proven to be one of the more lucrative stocks favored by the legendary investor Warren Buffett, both in terms of returns and its dividend yield.
Indeed, KO shares have rallied approximately 3,500% since 1988 – the year the Oracle of Omaha first started buying – and have also offered strong performance in 2026. Specifically, after starting the year at $69.12, Coca-Cola equity rose 36.52% to its press-time price of $94.36.
A trader who put $1,000 in mid-1988 following Buffett would, therefore, have $36,000 at press time on Monday, November 2.

Here’s how much Berkshire Hathaway is up on its KO stock investment in 2026
Considering such performance and the fact that the fourth-quarter (Q4) 2025 13-f filing for Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A, BRK.B) reveals that the conglomerate held 400 million KO shares worth approximately $27.96 billion at the start of 2026, Buffett is up more than $10 billion on the investment in the last 11 months.
A retail investor who purchased $1,000 worth of the equity on January 2 would have, meanwhile, gained $365.20 for a position worth $1,365.20 at press time on Monday, November 2.
For comparison, the S&P 500 benchmark stock market index rallied a far smaller 11.06% year-to-date (YTD), and Pepsi (NASDAQ: PEP), Coca-Cola’s most famous rival, fell 3.03% YTD.
Coca-Cola (KO) stock dividend in 2026
Meanwhile, KO stock is also known as a reliable dividend pick. For example, the company distributed a total of $1.59 per share so far in 2026 – $0.53 on April 1, July 1, and October 1, each – and is due to pay an additional $0.53 on December 15.
Thus, Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway already received $636 million in yield this year and will have received a total of $848 million by 2027, provided the upcoming 13-f filings don’t reveal a reduction or increase in the firm’s Coca-Cola stake.
A regular investor who purchased, for example, 100 shares at the start of 2026 would have received $159 by press time and would have received $212 by the next New Year’s Day for a $6,912 initial investment.
