Alibaba Cloud opens blockchain lab for Web3 game developers in Japan

Alibaba Cloud opens blockchain lab for Web3 game developers in Japan

In April of this year, Alibaba Cloud, the center of Alibaba Group’s digital technology and intelligence, will launch a blockchain laboratory in Shibuya, Japan, with the intention of assisting Japanese game developers in identifying further commercial prospects presented by the Web3 era.

In order to keep up with the competition in the Web3 age, this lab will serve as an incubation center where game creators can meet and learn about the newest blockchain technology, according to information shared by Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) on March 22.

The new lab is opening thanks to a collaborative effort between Tokyu Real Estate Co., Ltd., and Skeleton Crew Studio, a game and VR content creation studio “BitSummit,” Japan’s largest indie game event in Kyoto every year.

For the moment, it will be accessible to a select group of customers and hackathon participants who are engaged in the development of joint projects with Alibaba Cloud. Moreover, engineers from partner firms specialized in Alibaba Cloud and blockchain will be present to give onsite technical assistance.

Alibaba Cloud’s Web3 partner ecosystem

Regular seminars, workshops, and networking events allow developers to learn about and discuss the newest developments in Web3 technology. Furthermore, developers benefit from direct access to Alibaba Cloud’s Web3 partner ecosystem.

For example, Safeheron provides a secure place for institutional investors to keep their digital assets, and a blockchain infrastructure greatly improves the speed, scalability, and overall performance of Web3 video game development projects. Included in this package is NodeReal, a significant video distributor, as well as COCOS-BCX, a supplier of scaling solutions for the Web3 gaming environment.

In addition to this, developers have the chance to explore each of these project ecosystems’ test environments.

Unique Song, country manager of Alibaba Cloud Japan, said:

“The strengths of content development and digital technology across industries, especially in the game field, opportunities are increasing in the active Web3 community in Japan. We provide robust, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure, technology platforms, and intelligence tools for Web3 developers in Japan, and customers and developers are unique in fields such as games, metaverse, and social media.

On top of that, Alibaba Cloud has said it would provide a blockchain node service in Japan by the end of the year. At the moment, the service, which is being tested by users who have been invited, makes the experience of working with Alibaba Cloud’s scalable, efficient, and secure infrastructure more user-friendly for developers.
