Spearheaded by Nexo, the initiative has gained backing from a multitude of industry leaders including Bitget and Kraken, among others.
Compared to previous emoji campaigns such as Taco Bell’s push for a taco symbol and Tinder’s advocacy for an interracial couple icon, the “Bitcoin Deserves an Emoji” movement stands out with its robust support from 35+ crypto pioneers.
Kosta Kantchev, Co-founder and Executive Chairman of Nexo, emphasized the necessity of a Bitcoin emoji given its massive market dominance, stating:
“Bitcoin’s $1.34T market dominance calls for a unified symbol on all keyboards. With 1.26B total Bitcoin addresses and 190,000+ professionals and tech pioneers pushing the global community forward, the Bitcoin Emoji is long overdue.”
