Open Campus, TinyTap, Code Green partner to fight climate change via EdTech initiatives in Web3

Open Campus, the community-driven protocol catering to educators, content creators, parents, and students, has entered a strategic partnership with TinyTap, the renowned EdTech platform known for its user-generated educational games.

This significant collaboration was announced on August 17 and involves a united effort with Code Green, an innovative Web3 organization passionately committed to environmental well-being, as per the information shared with Finbold.

By harnessing the potential of tokenized educational material, interactive gaming, and blockchain technology, the goal of the cooperation is to increase the number of children who are aware of climate change and its effects.

Notably, Open Campus, TinyTap, and Code Green are all dedicated to supporting the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) efforts.

‘Climate Change for Kids’

The collaboration comes on the heels of the Open Campus’s “Climate Change for Kids” campaign, which was a resounding success and whose primary objective is to increase the younger generation’s understanding of and sensitivity to climate change.

Since its first introduction on X (formerly known as Twitter), the #ClimateChange4Kids campaign has garnered more than 200,000 impressions across all platforms.

The plan calls for a $1 million fund to incentivize educators to develop climate change courses, and it also includes the “Living Stories” project, which encourages communities to share their experiences and climate-conscious practices, a climate-themed sticker pack created by TinyTap to aid educators in course creation, and a new game called “Climate Detectives: Saving Planet Earth” available for free on TinyTap.

HEALV3RSE game

TinyTap will use Code Green’s HEALV3RSE game’s extensive backstory and avatars to construct a new climate change course as part of the newly announced partnership. HEALV3RSE, a “play to heal” game built on The Sandbox, encourages players to learn about climate change and its remedies by letting them explore and learn about eco-friendly activities like planting trees, cleaning the ocean, and setting up solar panels.

Yogev Shelly, CEO of TinyTap, stated:

“We are excited to work with Code Green, which is a partner to the United Nations’ efforts to combat climate change, by educating our kids about what is going on in our planet.”

He added:

“By taking HEALV3RSE avatars to TinyTap, we develop a perfect companion to its metaverse game on The Sandbox, and offer parents and kids multiple ways to learn about our changing world in a fun and engaging way.”

Finally, Open Campus and Code Green have announced that 100 HEALV3RSE avatars and equipment NFTs will be given away as part of a combined giveaway effort in the near future.
