Ripple set to dump 1 billion XRP this weekend

Ripple set to dump 1 billion XRP this weekend

After unlocking and not relocking 3 billion XRP from the escrow accounts so far in 2026, Ripple Labs, a regulated blockchain payment company, is set to receive another 1 billion tokens on Sunday, November 1.

Ripple will gain access to 1 billion over this weekend, continuing with its long-running monthly escrow schedule that has defined XRP supply dynamics since late 2017.

Year-to-date (YTD), the company has consistently re-escrowed about 700 million XRP, or roughly 70% of each monthly unlock, into new longer-dated contracts. As such, Ripple has received 300 million XRP, on a monthly basis, for operations, On-Demand Liquidity corridors, and partner distributions.

As of press time, Ripple’s escrow account held 35.4 billion XRP, valued at approximately $46.72 billion, according to data Finbold retrieved from XRPSCAN.

Other Ripple’s accounts on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) hold nearly 4.05 billion tokens, worth over $5.34 billion. As a result, the company controls 39.45 billion tokens at the time of reporting, which is slightly lower than 46.87 billion tokens held by whales with an account balance of more than 10 million tokens.

XRP price performance ahead of Ripple’s upcoming unlock

Ahead of Ripple’s November unlock, the token’s price has plunged by more than 13% during the last 30 days. The token had a reported market capitalization of $83.68 billion, up nearly 2% over the past 24 hours.

The crypto asset registered a 24-hour average trading volume of $1.57 billion, down 6.23% on the day, according to metrics from CoinMarketCap.

Even though Ripple is scheduled to release more XRP into circulation, the rising institutional demand and regulatory clarity in the United States have absorbed the monthly selling pressure.
