TON Society joins HumanCode with a $5 million initiative for digital ID verification

TON Society joins HumanCode with a $5 million initiative for digital ID verification

The Open Network (TON) Society, a collective of hubs shaping the TON ecosystem, has joined HumanCode, an artificial intelligence (AI) firm, to roll out a $5 million incentive program, according to the information shared with Finbold on April 8.

The endeavor aims to furnish Toncoin users with cutting-edge palm scanning technology for robust digital identity verification and cybersecurity protection.

A step forward in digital ID verification

The collaboration unveiled at the Hong Kong Web3 Festival, is a groundbreaking move in the realm of digital identity verification.

Leveraging HumanCode’s technology, TON is poised to offer all Toncoin users a voluntary avenue to authenticate their human identity on the blockchain

The innovative infrastructure sets a new standard for combating bots while empowering users with greater autonomy over their online identity.

Dr. Zhang, the brain behind HumanCode’s palm recognition solution, highlighted his focus on privacy preservation and security after decades of spearheading advancements in search engine optimizations and AI:

“I spent many years working with the leading technology companies in the world, creating bots for search engines and social platforms. Now, we have reached a stage where bots present a significant risk to the Web. Solutions are in great demand for proof-of-human. Whilst other proof-of-human solutions exist, HumanCode’s palm system offers greater user privacy protection and does not require specific hardware. With over 900 million monthly active users, we strongly believe Telegram is the tool to deliver web3 mass adoption and we are excited for HumanCode to support the TON community.”

Scalable, private, and decentralized ID solutions

Ekin Tuna, Director of Growth at TON Foundation, echoed Zhang’s sentiment, emphasizing the significance of embracing Proof of Personhood protocols like HumanCode’s and highlighting the potential of scalable, private, and decentralized digital ID solutions:

“Supporting Proof of Personhood protocols like Humancode is a step towards a practical reputation system that has real-life use cases for everyone entering our ecosystem. A scalable, private, and decentralized identity will help to onboard the first one billion users to the Web3 ecosystem in Telegram. We look forward to going further and seeing what exciting use cases it will unlock for the community and TON developers alike.”

As part of the incentive program, TON Society members who undergo the palm scan and validate their personhood will receive HumanCode incentives.

The feature is open to all, and TON encourages users to link their TON wallet at society.ton.org, promising a seamless entry point into the ecosystem.
