Anthony Scaramucci’s SkyBridge Capital is a “much bigger Solana fan than Ethereum,” as said in a recent interview to CNBC. Solana (SOL) is a direct competitor to Ethereum (ETH) as a leading Layer-1 (L1) blockchain for decentralized applications and tokens.
The interview was aired on February 10 at the Squawk Box show, anchored by Andrew Ross Sorkin. As developed, Sorkin asked Scaramucci to comment on Ethereum, following “Don Junior” bullish comments regarding ETH price. Finbold also reported Eric Trump showing a bullish bias towards Ethereum.
However, while acknowledging that SkyBridge does own ETH in its portfolio, the 2005 investment firm is more bullish on SOL. Scaramucci summarized his thesis on why they prefer Solana to Ethereum, looking ahead at a tokenization future.

“We do own ETH in small sizes. We are much bigger Solana fans than we are ETH. We don’t have a negative opinion of ETH. My partner and law school classmate, John Soulos, is sort of an ETH maximalist. So, he’s got ETH into our portfolio. I think that, Bret Messing and I just think that Solana is faster, it has lower gas fees, and I think it’s the one that is gonna win the race, if you will, in terms of going into the tokenization world.”

He then bases his thesis on BlackRock’s (NYSE: BLK) CEO Larry Fink’s vision of tokenizing stocks and bonds. “I think Solana would be the more obvious choice [for that],” Scaramucci concludes.
Solana (SOL) vs. Ethereum (ETH) price analysis
As of this writing, ETH is trading at $2,688 and SOL at $202 per token. In a year-to-date performance, Ethereum accumulates 20.7% losses, while Solana has 4.77% gains, validating SkyBridge Capital’s positioning.
Meanwhile, SOL trades with one-third less market capitalization than ETH, suggesting a higher growth potential, proportional to their current valuation.
Besides Solana, other Ethereum competitors are also positioning themselves in the tokenization run, trying to find their places among investors and users worldwide.
