The cloud branch of Chinese technology titan Huawei has entered into a ‘heavyweight’ partnership with multiple blockchain companies on the launch of its metaverse and Web3 Alliance project, which aims to facilitate the speedy adoption and proliferation of these technologies in the region of East Asia and beyond.
As it happens, Huawei Cloud announced cooperation with Polygon (MATIC), Deepbrain Chain (DBC), Morpheus Labs (MITX), and BlockChain Solutions, with others to follow in the future, at the 2023 Huawei Cloud Asia Pacific Partnership Leaders Summit in Bali, Indonesia, on February 23, as WeChat reported on February 25.
Commenting on the partnership and launch announcement, the CEO of Morpheus Labs, Pei-Han, stressed his company’s involvement in the project as “one of the key partners in Huawei Metaverse – Web3 Alliance.”

Expanding horizons
In addition to the metaverse and Web3 Alliance partners, the summit, which took place between February 22 and 24, brought together other IT companies in the region, such as Cloudsec Asia, Sirius, HKT Enterprise Solutions, China Telecom, China Mobility, and China Unicom, to discuss efforts in broadening the technology’s reach.
According to the report, Huawei Cloud deploys cloud-native, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data to governments and businesses in nearly 30 countries, where it aims to carry out digital transformation and increase productivity, as it serves 730 million end-users around the world.
Furthermore, its recent blockchain alliance is just one of Huawei’s efforts on expanding new technologies, as it announced back in November 2021 that it had already set its sights on rolling out the 6G network by 2030, despite 5G technology only recently debuting on the global stage.
The recent announcement follows the earlier news about the partnership of Tencent Cloud, the cloud branch of tech company Tencent, with decentralized technology projects that include Ankr (ANKR), Avalanche (AVAX), Layer 1 network Sui, and Ethereum (ETH) Layer 2 zkEVM scaling solution Scroll, in an effort to support the global Web3 ecosystem development.
